Apparently, being addicted to shopping, even specifically at DT, is a thing!? Or maybe I’m at the start of a shopping issue and DT just happens to be my store of choice. Either way, I’m halting shopping there for now. I’ve spent too much and I don’t want it to be harder to stop later. I’m working with my therapist on techniques to not overspend and overstock anymore. I love DT and still want to shop there, just more intentionally. I’m moving toward better coping mechanisms instead of turning to shopping for a quick dopamine hit when life feels stressful. It doesn’t really work the way something like a good walking habit does. It could also be more of a hyperfixation. We’ll explore that together.
